Biography

Marian Marcatili studied Ceramics firstly at Penrith TAFE in the late 80's then enrolling in a Bachelor of Arts degree at University of Western Sydney, graduated in 1996.

 

Highlights of her foray into Ceramics are being awarded the Fishers Ghost Art Festival award at Campbelltown Regional Art Gallery for the Ceramics category in 2004, plus exhibiting works chosen for the 5th International Ceramics Biennale in Kapfenberg in 2007.

Marian has participated in various group exhibitions, was a member of The Inner City Clay Workers Gallery, Glebe and is currently an exhibiting member of the Newcastle Studio Potters Inc. participating in members group exhibitions.

 

Employed as a Technical Officer, in Fine Arts Ceramics at Nepean TAFE, Marian went on to teach in the Ceramics department for a short period of time prior to relocating to Lake Macquarie.

Marian is a member of Newcastle Studio Potters Inc. in Cooks Hill, Newcastle, Australia and exhibits and sells her ceramics through members exhibitions at Back to Back Galleries and the Gallery Shop.
